Just spent a fabulous weekend at Ruthven House B&B. Received the warmest of welcomes from the owners. Tastefully decorated accommodation and all those other extras that make it feel like a home from home, A lovely weekend with true highland hospitality..

My husband and I went here for a break just after our wedding and it was great. We stayed in one o the cottages and Fiona (the owner) had put a bottle of Fizz in the fridge for us as we were newly weds and honestly was most a accommodating and nicest woman. The cottage was lovely and just what we needed with our on little private bit to sit out in the sun, have a BBQ and watch all the wild life. My husband had to go to the mane house a few time to borrow a few things and Fiona was more then happy to help out. She also gave us a some home made cheese cake which was to die for. We also fell in love with her horse Pluto, who were where aloud to sneak a few treats to. We will most defiantly be back 🙂

Stayed here for four nights and as bed and breakfast places go it’s right up there with the good ones. I am certain anyone who stays here will not be disappointed.
What makes this place exceptional is Fiona, the hostess. If she offers to cook supper for you and you appreciate excellent food, do not refuse. Her culinary skills are exceptional. She could easily be a serious contender on Masterchef were she ever to consider applying. I enjoyed four mouth watering meals that, dare I say, were better than many I have eaten that have been cooked for me by relatively ‘famous’ chefs. Each of them was a never to be forgotten experience and I really would go back again just for that.
Fiona, and her husband Colin are also, possibly one of the most caring ad thoughtful hosts I have come across on my travels. A cold glass of wine was offered on arrival and was very welcome after an arduous journey – and on mornings when I was leaving too early to have breakfast, Fiona immediately offered to do me a packed breakfast which was splendid too. Bear in mind, most people when I say I will be out too early for breakfast just shrug and say -okay then and offer nothing more.
The property is also beautiful scenically situated in quiet countryside, with an abundance of wildlife and beautiful views, great for families or photographers, and of course ‘foodies’. If I were local, I would certainly want to book a meal with her to celebrate special occasions such as birthdays or anniversaries etc. It wouldn’t need much thinking about and the price is very reasonable too.
