Do we ask for Deposits?

We ask for a non-refundable deposit, payable by cheque.  For Bed & Breakfast, the deposit is £20.00 per room per night and for our Self catering Cottages, the deposit is £100.00 per cottage per week. We ask that we receive this within 7 days of your booking and then, when we receive your deposit, we shall drop you a line confirming your reservation. Until confirmed, all bookings are provisional. 

What about the Balance?

For Bed and Breakfast we simply ask you to settle the balance of your bill, by  cash at the time of your departure.   Alternatively, you can pay the balance by cheque to arrange seven days prior to your arrival date.  For the Self Catering Cottages we ask that your balance is sent to us, by cheque, to reach us one month prior to your arrival.  We do not accept credit or debit cards.

What if I need to Cancel?

For the cottages, if you cancel your reservation all deposits and remaining balances are non refundable and non transferable.   We suggest you take out travel insurance.

Should you cancel your bed and breakfast accommodation within 48 hours of your stay, there is a fee equivalent to a one night stay rate.

What time can I Check In & Check Out?

Check in time is 4.00pm onwards or earlier by prior arrangement. We ask you to vacate your room or cottage by 10.00 am on your day of departure.

Do you accommodate Families?

We welcome families in Craig Bheag Cottage but we do not have accommodation for youngsters for Bed and Breakfast in the house.

What about Dogs?

We like dogs ourselves but we have to acknowledge that some of our guests do not. We therefore have a No Pets policy both in The House and in The Cottages.

Do you have a Licence?

Sorry, no we do not. However, the McInnes House Hotel and Duke of Gordon Hotel  are just a short stroll away.

What time is Breakfast?

For our Bed and Breakfast Guests, we serve breakfast between 8.00 & 9.00am daily. Please do advise us if you have any allergies that we need to be aware of.

Do you have anywhere I can Smoke?

We do not offer any facilities at all for Guests to smoke in either Ruthven House or the Self Catering Cottages. We do however provide a “Butt Bin” outside for guests who prefer to smoke and we would ask all our guests to respect our wishes on this sensitive issue.
